If you want your 2011-2014 F-150 EcoBoost to sound like a truck again, minus the highway drone, start here. Behind the converters, the MBRP ARMOR Lite cat-back trades the restrictive factory pipe and muffler for mandrel-bent aluminized steel tubing and an MBRP muffler.

You get a deeper, meaner note when you get on it, a little better throttle response, and a cleaner look out back. In dry country like ours in West Texas, budget-friendly aluminized steel holds up well. In salty winter states it will not last like stainless, so keep that in mind. No cutting or welding: it bolts to the factory hangers.

Bolt-on with basic hand tools on jack stands or a lift. Expect 1 to 2 hours. Penetrating oil on the factory clamps makes it easier. Being cat-back (or resonator-back), it keeps the factory catalytic converters and emissions equipment where they are. Exhaust sound and emissions rules vary by state; California buyers should check local rules before ordering. On the Ford F-150 3.5L EcoBoost 4in, check hanger alignment before final tightening.
