On the 2019+ Silverado/Sierra 1500 5ft 9in Bed, it is a flat, locking aluminum lid that folds to the cab in seconds for full bed use.
You are getting the third-gen MX4. A dense polymer core makes the aluminum panels roughly 20% stiffer than the first version, latches catch automatically and reworked seals and clamps keep more water out. It stands up behind the cab without covering the third brake light, and driving with it open is fine. Its textured matte finish suits any truck color.

Install notes
Hand tools clamp it to the rails without drilling. Under an hour is typical. Connect the drain tubes to the bed drains and re-snug the clamps after the first week.
