Description
AMP Research's PowerStep Smart Series adds phone control to the power running board. It drops a step on your 2019-2024 Ram 1500 whenever a door opens and stows it when the door shuts, and the app lets you push the boards out or lock them up on demand.
That on-demand control is handy when you are loading the roof rack, washing the truck or heading down a rough trail and want the steps tucked away. The app also runs the under-board LED lights and replaces the old manual override switch.

What's included
Driver and passenger boards with their motor assemblies, plus vehicle-specific brackets, a wiring harness and hardware. Reference part 86240-01A when matching it to your truck.
Install notes
Using the vehicle-specific brackets supplied, the boards mount beneath the rocker panels; AMP notes drilling is required. Plan on 3 to 5 hours with basic hand tools and a drill. Consider having a pro install it if you would rather not handle wiring. Wiring connects to the truck's factory harness, so nothing gets cut or spliced. Check that everything on the Ram 1500 cycles correctly before the first drive.
