Early Duramax trucks with the Allison don't have tap shift. The Fleece TapShifter adds +/- buttons to the column shifter on the 2001-2005 Chevy/GMC 2500HD/3500 Duramax LB7/LLY with Allison, so you can pick gears with your thumb the way the 2006 and newer trucks do.

Hold a gear on a grade, keep the truck out of overdrive with a trailer, or stop gear hunting. Pullers like that it won't upshift past the range you select. It plugs in with OEM-style connectors and looks factory.

2001-2002 trucks need a TCM re-flash to get overdrive lockout and full function.
