In this era of high-CFM gas engines and air-hungry diesel, S&B test their filters to Standard ISO 5011, which has produced exact and repeatable results. Due to the controlled test setting, performance certificates now accompany S&B filters for added assurance. Diesel engines consume air at a much higher rate than most gas vehicles. The speed of airflow is referred to as cubic feet per minute (CFM). BUILT-IN SWING GATE
In extreme heat, high loads, or high altitudes S&B’s swing gate pivots when your truck accelerates to full throttle, opening the ram-air duct mounted behind the grille which releases cooler and less restrictive air to your engine.
The intake uses the same motor that drives Ram-Air to activate our swing gate, giving you all the benefits of the stock system, plus much more. Draws air from the wheel well inlet under normal driving conditions or inclement weather conditions (ice, snow, rain) to protect against the elements.
